8k spatial resolution versus contrast pattern
The perception of spatial resolution is influenced by its contrast.
So in order to see the resolution, there’s also a minimum contrast requirement.
Higher-contrast details may remain visible at smaller angular sizes. Stars illustrate the distinction between detecting a bright point and resolving its structure: seeing the point does not mean the eye can resolve its diameter.
