HDR warm-up videos

Follow the display manufacturer’s operating and care instructions. Do not leave a display unattended with static or very bright test images; these videos do not replace model-specific warm-up guidance.

FF Pictures HDR warm-up videos contain test sequences for checking HDR displays and playback chains. Ask about current availability, price and usage terms.

The HDR warm-up videos can be used for:

  • Observing an HDR display under changing pictures
  • Identifying defective pixels
  • Identifying burn-in effects
  • Identifying brightness or colour non-uniformity across the image, such as clouding or mura
  • Identifying transmission errors involving cables, repeaters, AV receivers and other components
  • Running extended stress tests

The following test sequences are included in the download:

  • Full-screen red, green, blue, black, grey and white sequences using DCI-P3 colours
  • Full-screen red, green, blue, black, grey and white sequences using BT.2020 colours
  • Moving zone-plate pattern with variable phase
  • Pixel noise: a random pattern moving in different directions, distributed across the HDR luminance range

Technical details:

The videos use HEVC (H.265), 10-bit encoding and BT.2020, with the metadata required for HDR10. They were offered as MP4 downloads; current delivery terms are available on request. Depending on compatibility, the files can be played on modern HDR televisions or Ultra HD Blu-ray players.

The total running time is 40 minutes, with 10 minutes per video. We recommend using the Repeat function of the television or Ultra HD Blu-ray player to loop the videos.
