In-house studio setup & workflow optimisation

For companies, product teams and regular content production

Make your in-house studio and existing equipment work as a dependable photography and video workflow. We help set up new studios and improve existing productions, from lighting and cameras through editing, export and handover. A practical workshop lets your team test the changes, while clear documentation records the settings and steps that work.

When an in-house studio makes sense

An in-house studio is useful when the same kinds of content need to be produced repeatedly. The starting point is your publishing task: who needs the content, what should it explain, and which steps can your team carry out reliably? Equipment choices follow that brief.

Establish a repeatable capture setup

A defined lighting and camera arrangement helps prepare recurring shoots. Practise its use on the product demonstrations, explainers or photographic subjects you plan to produce.

Make use of existing equipment

Room, lighting, camera and image monitoring are planned together. You can retain equipment after checking its suitability and add components where needed.

Plan the path through to publication

Backups, editing, colour correction and channel versions form part of the procedure. Within the agreed scope, your team receives working notes for the steps from capture to output.

Plan the studio and the complete production workflow

We support the planning and setup of your in-house studio. The scope is agreed for your space, budget and team; a studio plan should fit the people who will use it and the material they will produce.

Lighting, background and camera equipment

We tailor lighting, backgrounds, camera positions, lenses and image monitoring to the subjects and formats. Existing equipment informs the plan. We try the setup with a representative shot before your team uses it in everyday production.

From capture to edited content

We help connect recording, data backup, editing, colour correction and export. Clear settings and handovers make it easier to repeat the workflow and create the required photo and video versions.

A practical publishing plan

Together, we plan topics, formats, responsibilities and a production rhythm for your website, social media or other channels. The aim is a process your team can actually maintain.

Improve existing photography and video workflows

When picture results vary, settings need to be rediscovered or handovers take too long, we examine the workflow using a representative production. Space, lighting, cameras, software and post-production are considered together. You can see which improvements are possible with existing equipment and where an addition would help.

Align the setup and settings

We check lighting, camera position, exposure, focus and colour using your subjects. Together, we establish starting settings and useful checks for recurring photography or video tasks.

Practise in a hands-on workshop

Your team uses its own setup and applications. Test shots make the effect of changes clear. Capture, picture assessment, processing and output are connected into a usable procedure.

Make working knowledge available

A guide tailored to your workspace records operation, tested settings and common problems. Checklists and recording templates help repeat the work and hand it over to colleagues.

Workshop example: a repeatable photobooth workflow

A photobooth workshop shows how we connect equipment, operation and documentation. Camera settings, lighting and the software workflow are checked using finished test photos. The accompanying guide explains which values the team may adjust, how to check the result and how to record settings that work. The same approach can be applied to recurring product photography, interviews or other in-house productions.

Documentation your team can use

Your deliverables can include a photographed operating guide, a short setup checklist, troubleshooting steps and a template for recording tested settings. We agree the scope for your production and the people operating it.

Setup, workflow and documentation for your team

Before work begins, we agree which of the following results your assignment needs:

  • A requirements brief and a studio/equipment plan that considers the existing room and equipment.
  • Agreed lighting, camera and image-monitoring settings tested with a representative subject.
  • A documented path from capture and backup through editing and the intended exports.
  • Working notes or a checklist for your team, with publishing formats and responsibilities.

Production experience behind the planning

FF Pictures combines film production and picture finishing with HDR workflows and display metrology. We bring this experience to the planning of your studio, from capture and monitoring to the finished files. Florian Friedrich is your direct contact.

Prefer to have us produce the content?

We can also produce your photography and video in our own Munich studio. We agree the concept, subjects, lighting, capture and post-production for your website, product communication, social media or presentations. Discuss your planned content with us to compare an in-house setup with commissioned production.

How we work together

  1. Define the publishing task

Tell us what you produce, who needs it and which formats or channels it must serve.

  2. Review the space and equipment

We consider the available room, existing equipment, budget and the people operating the studio.

  3. Try a representative production

A representative production helps us agree the setup and settings and simplify handovers between steps.

  4. Document the agreed workflow

We record the settings, steps and responsibilities included in the assignment.

Questions before planning a studio

Can we keep using our existing equipment?

Yes. We start with the equipment you already own and assess how your cameras, lighting, software and working procedures can work better together. Suitable equipment stays in use. We recommend additions where they offer a clear benefit for picture quality or your workflow, with a reasoned explanation and your budget in mind.

Can our own team operate the studio?

Yes. We design the setup and operating procedure around your team and its experience. Your team tries the steps with its own subjects and receives appropriate guidance and documentation. This makes the settings and workflow easier to repeat and share with other colleagues. We plan the training scope together.

Can you include editing and publishing in the workflow?

Yes. We can plan the workflow from capture through editing and colour correction to the formats you need for publication. You can also discuss regular production or channel management with us. The proposal sets out which steps we handle and which your team carries out; additional services and responsibilities are agreed before work starts.

Do you support teams outside Munich?

Yes. We work with companies across Germany and internationally. Consulting, planning and workflow reviews can take place remotely; hands-on work with your setup is arranged on site as appropriate. You can work with us in English or German.

What should we send for a first discussion?

Describe the intended content, the room, existing equipment, your team’s experience and the planned timing. Start with a brief description; we establish the technical details together.

Studio planning enquiry

Tell us your subjects, the current situation and when you want to start. We help you identify a sensible first step and the scope your team needs.
