FF Pictures creates material for SD, HD, UHD, SDR and HDR workflows. Resolution, frame rate, bit depth and colour encoding are specified for the intended application, including BT.601, BT.709 and BT.2020 workflows.

Selected projects and resources

• Samsung HDR10 Reference Disc 2016: production, grading, patterns, encoding and authoring of a UHD Blu-ray distributed by Samsung to partners. It is not commercially available.
• HDR warm-up sequences: moving HDR content for examining playback and transmission chains. Prolonged use should follow the display manufacturer’s guidance; no sequence can guarantee protection against burn-in.
• Quality.TV: test patterns and videos with practical guidance for image adjustment.
• Quantum Data HDR Lab: test patterns and signal-analysis workflows developed with Florian Friedrich and Joe Kane for video signal generators.
